That said your latest poster is getting a bit carried away Beethoven&#039;s loneliness was not total or &quot;inexpressable&quot; he may have been deaf but he was not dump! or unable to respond to his many vistors - his converstation books show us just how alert and responsive he was. BTW I also find i find it odd that Malher&#039;s symphony no8 is seen by the same poster as akin to the Beethoven 9 when that work is about nature and rebirth not the comos. Not in the way that Bruckner&#039;s 9th manages to be:
